Our educational programs are based on the Early Years Learning Framework, which focuses on Belonging, Being and Becoming. Our program is developed through children’s interests, strengths, family input, community links and intentional teaching. Each interest-based learning experience is planned to developmentally support and challenge the children within an environment that fosters each child’s self-worth.
Little Explorers is an inclusive Centre that welcomes children with additional/special needs. Our Educators have experience in caring for children with physical disabilities and those requiring alternate feeding methods e.g. PEG feeds.
For the first few years of a baby’s life, everything in the world is new. Learning is a 24/7 process. They have to figure out how to move their bodies, how to manipulate objects, how to understand and use language, and more. That is why it is important to provide babies with the right support and a stimulating environment as early as possible.
Toddlers love to experiment with their ‘I will do this myself’ attitude. This is an important step in developing the confidence and independence that are key for becoming lifelong learners.
It is at the toddler stage that children are really starting to explore the world around them and their place in it. This means a lot of trial and error- taking what they are learning and putting it into practice.
Preschool children learn best through a mix of open ended and structured play. At ages, 3-5 children are becoming readers, writers, counters and collaborators. The early skills they showed in complex concepts as toddlers and babies are now becoming more defined.
Children are gaining more independence and confidence, learning to cooperate and collaborate with others and experiment with creativity and imagination.
We bring the community into our centre which offers children opportunities to become more aware of and interact with the local community and the world around them.
Our educational program is stimulating, challenging and fun. We respect each child's individual learning style, abilities, interests, culture and family background as we design programs that extend interests, develop competencies in many areas, and incorporate cultural and self- awareness.

At Little Explorers in Merrylands, we incorporate yoga into our centre program. Yoga is beneficial to children in many ways. Children encounter emotional, social, and physical challenges or conflicts and yoga practice that includes breathing techniques, behavioural guidelines, and physical postures can be incredibly valuable for them. Yoga is something children can practice anywhere and the breathing, the concentration, the poses, and the way kids learn to act or react to situations, leads to constant self-discovery and inquisitiveness.
We have incorporated the NSW Dept of Education’s ELLA language app into our preschool program. Ella is a digital, play based language learning program, specifically developed for preschool children. This uses an app with a variety of different activities which are designed to engage children and encourage respect of diversity, develop social, thinking and digital skills. ELLA also helps to develop literacy and improve memory and concentration.
