Go Green with Morph

Hello everybody! I'd like to share with you part of a wonderful initiative of the people over at Toddle - the Childcare Comparison website.

Morph is Toddle’s green Little Monster, a colour that children associate with the environment and sustainability. Morph is the hero of the story, and shows his friends how to be ‘green’ by picking up rubbish, recycling, saving water and planting seeds.

Using bright and colourful illustrations and an engaging rhyme, children will learn about all the ways that they can help the environment, starting today. This is a great book to read to your children as it shows that even if you’re small, you can make a difference.

I liked the little poem that's in that video so much that I thought I'd reproduce it here!

Morph's an eco-monster, he's green inside and out. It's rivers, trees, bugs and bees he cares the most about.

His friends want to be green like him, and help the planet too. There's lots of ways to help, there's more, I'll show you what to do.

Let's be green together, it's easy if you try. "Purple can be green" said Morph, "And I can show you why".

Always check the labels on your milk or orange juice. If they can be recycled, they can have another use.

Let's be green together, it's easy if you try. "Magenta can be green" said Morph, "And I can show you why".

When you're going out, switch off the screens and fans and lights. Only use them when you're home, or when its dark at night.

Let's be green together, it's easy if you try. "Orange can be green" said Morph, "And I can show you why".

Pick up rubbish off the ground and toss it in the bin. If everybody does their bit, then all of us can win.

Let's be green together, it's easy if you try. "Yellow can be green" said Morph, "And I can show you why".

When you brush your teeth, don't leave the tap on that's a waste. Once the waters down the drain, then it can not be replaced.

Let's be green together, it's easy if you try. "Coral can be green" said Morph, "And I can show you why".

Make some space at home to plant some flowers, herbs or trees. It's fun to do and makes a home for butterflies and bees.

We may be small but each of us together plays a part. These actions make a difference and today is the day we start.

All our actions will add up, there's so much we can do. Let's all go green together, and the change can start with you.
